Vote for St Lucia Town of the Year
Help St Lucia win the title of KykNET Kwela's 'Dorp van die Jaar 2018'

VOTING has opened for the national round of the Kwela Town of the Year competition, in which St Lucia is KZN’s finalist.
Each member of the public has the chance, until Friday, 1 June, to ensure St Lucia wins the title by SMS’ing ST LUCIA to 33157.
The competition permits each sim card to vote up to 30 times at a cost of R1.50 per SMS, putting the outcome of the competition firmly in the hands of the public.
While this is the third year for St Lucia to have won KZN Town of the Year, this most popular Zululand holiday destination has never won the national title.

So get voting because, once crowned South Africa’s Town of the Year, St Lucia will win a year of advertising on Kyknet, which will in turn help boost tourism.
‘In 2010 and 2012, St Lucia won the provincial competition, but each time we have battled to win it nationally as we just don’t get enough SMS’,’ said Riette Bennett of Advantage Charters.
‘And, because we have won a provincial title again this year, we are not allowed to enter this competition again until 2023 – for five years – so why don’t we make a huge effort and make sure we win this year.’
‘We really need to see this as an incredible opportunity.
‘Part of the prize is an entire year of advertising on Kyknet, who will also bring a large event to our town.
‘Both of these things will be of incredible value to our tourism industry, and benefit each and every resident and businessperson in the town.
‘Each sim card owner can send as many as 30 sms’s, which means it will cost you just R45 to help our town to win,’ she said.
