MTUBATUBA Regional Court last week convicted and sentenced Siya Ntanzi to a 30-year jail sentence for raping a 13-year-old girl.
Ntanzi appeared at Mtubatuba Regional Court on Monday, where the court heard that on 23 October 2016, Ntanzi went to his neighbor’s homestead at Qunwane area in kwaHlabisa and forced open the door before raping his victim repeatedly.
A case was opened at kwaHlabisa and the docket was transferred to the Ulundi Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit for investigation.
Ntanzi was arrested in April last year and charged, being positively linked to the crime by samples taken from the victim.
Zululand Cluster Police spokesperson, Captain Nkosie Gwala said Ntanzi has been in custody since his arrest last year.
