RBM graduates attend global summit in Canada

TWELVE Richards Bay Minerals (RBM) graduates are attending the Global Rio Tinto graduate summit in Montreal, Canada this week to interact with global business leaders and explore the company’s global vision for the business.

The summit brings together all Rio Tinto graduates from across the world and provides an opportunity for them to network, learn best practices and understand the global vision for the business.

Graduates champion Mxolisi Ngwenya said he was excited and grateful for the opportunity.

‘As a RBM graduate this is a life changing opportunity as this means we will get to rub shoulders with the highest decision makers and share our experiences with graduate colleagues from across the group.

‘As future managers and leaders of the business, these platforms are key to the growth and nurturing of young talent in the business,’ he said.

RBM General Manager: Human Resources, Thami Msubo, said the summit forms part of RBM’s talent management and leadership development strategy, which seeks to cultivate talent and develop future leaders.

‘In addition, RBM is committed to contributing towards skills development; therefore this initiative is very important for the company,’ said Msubo.

The graduates’ qualifications vary from mechanical engineering, geology, ecology, financial accounting, human resources and electrical engineering.
