Teen shares knowledge with Qalakabusha inmates
The Share the Knowledge programme reaches those behind bars
A YOUNG Zululand boy is continuing his passion for spreading education across the region.
Through the ‘Share the Knowledge’ project, Sthembiso Khumalo (15) visited the Qalakabusha Correctional Service facility on Wednesday and donated dictionaries to inmates.
Sithembiso works hand in hand with the Sanlam Centre and started collecting dictionaries last year.

Since then, the programme has reached many Zululand schools and other learning institutes.
According to this young philanthropist, people from disadvantaged backgrounds struggle to get dictionaries, a situation that sometimes cripples their education process as well as their ability to communicate in English.
‘The aim is to make people understand the English language, which will then assist them to absorb information easily in class or elsewhere.
‘It is the most used language and the lack of understanding could make people lose many opportunities,’ he said.
