Toddler drowns in Richards Bay pool

AN Arboretum family is mourning the loss of their toddler who yesterday (Saturday) afternoon drowned in a residential swimming pool.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Shawn Herbst said the 18-month-old child was found unresponsive by a family member who called the paramedics.

‘A full Advanced Life Support resuscitation was initiated, but the child unfortunately demised and was declared deceased on the scene,’ said Herbst.

Police officers were on scene and are investigating the incident.
