Several arrests in Ulundi police operation

Suspects to appear in court for drugs and illegal weapons

THE Ulundi police task team, assisted by Ulundi and Muden SAPS, arrested several suspects for the possession of drugs and illegal firearms in an operation on Friday.

The first operation was at the Ulundi Plaza where two suspects aged 21 and 30 were each found in possession of 10 rocks of cocaine.

They were arrested and charged for dealing in drugs.

The police then conducted another operation in the Babanango area, which led to the arrest of a 34-year-old suspect.

He was found in possession of an AK-47 rifle with six rounds of ammunition and arrested.

In a further operation, two teenagers were arrested by the Muden police in the Nkomba area.

They were found in possession of a shotgun and a pistol with three rounds of ammunition.

The boys were detained, but later released as they are minors.
