The men arrested in the Richards Bay shoot-out have been named.
Bongumusa Khumalo, who was shot when police attempted to apprehend the gang, is in a critical condition and has been flown to Durban for further treatment.
The other suspects, who were arrested on scene before being taken to the police station, are: Xulani Mkhize, Mandla Mkwanyana and Nkosiphule Mkhize.
All for aged aged between 18 and 38

Cops win battle of bullets
POLICE hit back hard when they came under fire during a car chase in Richards Bay this afternoon
Acting on information that four armed male suspects in a white Golf were heading for the CBD, members of the Crime Intelligence and Flying Squad units manned intersections between Meerensee and town.
The suspects turned off the John Ross Parkway at the Arboretum robots and when intercepted on North Central Arterial close to Via Cassiandra, the shootout ensued.
One suspect was badly wounded and was treated on scene by Extreme Medics paramedics.
The other three were apprehended and handcuffed before being taken to the police station.
No police suffered gunshot wounds.
