A full house of sporting fixtures in eShowe

New-comers, Sarel Cilliers make an impact in eShowe High Winter Sports Tournament

ESHOWE High School hosted their eighth Winter Sports Festival on Saturday with teams from throughout the province participating in hockey, rugby and netball.

First timers, Sarel Cilliers from Dundee won the boys hockey and rugby, while finishing second in the girls hockey.

Felixton College were pipped by Sarel Cilliers in the boys hockey final, but their girls team were champions, beating Empangeni in the final.

Hosts, eShowe High, only had one podium finish, that of netball where they took first place.

Hockey (girls) – 1 Felixton College; 2 Empangeni High School; 3 Sarel Cilliers

Hockey (boys) – 1 Sarel Cilliers; 2 Felixton College; 3 Hoërskool Richardsbaai

Rugby – 1 Sarel Cilliers; 2 Vryheid Landbou; Empangeni High School

Netball – 1 eShowe High; 2 John Ross College; 3 Empangeni High School
