DEFENDING women’s champions Empangeni drilled Vets 5-1 in the second round of the Zululand Hockey League at Grantleigh Schools on Sunday.

The final game on the day saw the Kadenza women’s side thump Richards Bay 4-0.

Teams will be back in action on Sunday in the third round, with Kadenza (women) and Vets kicking off the action at 8am.

This will be followed by a men’s fixture at 9.30am, when Empangeni and Kadenza lock horns.

Richards Bay’s women squad will then look to bounce back when they take on the University of Zululand at 11am.
