Firearm amnesty to be gazetted
There has been much Parliamentary debate surrounding the success of the amnesty

A HOTLY debated firearm amnesty is set to be gazetted and will run from 1 June to 30 November.
The amnesty has brought about much debate among both members of the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Police and firearm lobby groups, including the SA Gun Owners Association (SAGA).

Questions have been raised over the security of firearms handed in to police stations, with those leading the debate concerned about the documented cases in which police officers have been convicted of selling unlicensed firearms directly to criminals.
