Special needs pupils in bus row
Parents whose children are pupils at Thuthukani Special School have a problem with buses that do not allow them to be transported to school free of charge

PARENTS whose children are pupils at Thuthukani Special School have a problem with buses that do not allow them to be transported to school free of charge.
‘The company knows the children are disabled but they force them to use ordinary tickets,’ said one parent.
‘Another problem is that the tickets are lost now and again and it takes a week to get a new one.’
And when the parents give their children cash to pay for the transport, they lose the money.
Parents say they want to see the bus company doing the same as other companies, transporting the children free of charge, with the children using their name tags showing they are from Thuthukani Special School, or making special tickets for the pupils so as to simplify matters.
Mlu Ntshangase of the KZN Bus Company confirmed they would convene a meeting with parents so arrangements can be made for the transportation.
