BREAKING: Gwala rhino poaching case to be moved to Mtubatuba Regional Court
The case against Gwala has seen close to 20 delays to date
THE case against alleged rhino poaching ‘kingpin,’ Dumisani Gwala and his co accused, will be transferred to the Mtubatuba Regional Court.
Jamie Joseph of Saving the Wild broke the news this morning, which the ZO confirmed with Saving the Wild’s legal team.

‘Saving the Wild are very pleased to announce that our legal team was informed that the case of the accused rhino poaching kingpin of Zululand, Dumisani Gwala, will be transferred on 22 May to the Mtubatuba Regional Court.
At the time of his arrest in 2014, Gwala was believed to have been involved in about 80% of the illegal rhino horn trade in KZN.
Gwala, together with his co-accused Wiseman Makeba and Aubrey Dlamini, face a combined 10 charges relating to the illegal purchase and possession of rhino horn‚ and of resisting arrest.
