NRB ready to give students a lesson

Richards Bay FC look to keep climbing the ladder

RICHARDS Bay FC will be looking to give Stellenbosch a firm lesson at the uMhlathuze Stadium on Saturday.

The sides played to a 0-0 draw in the Cape during the first round, but since then the NRB side has shown vast improvement and with home ground advantage and enough fan support in the stands, should post their third consecutive win this weekend.

This would also boost their confidence going into the next game, away to Royal Eagles on 20 January, before they host log leaders Highlands Park on 28 January.

Under the astute leadership of head coach Jean Losciuto, NRB has risen from 16th to 13th place on the table in a matter of weeks.

Now full of confidence, not only will they want to get the three points on offer against Eagles, but they will be keen to avenge the 3-0 loss they suffered against Highlands Park in the first round of the competition.

That result gave a distorted view of the full 90 minutes and the Bay lads will be keen to inflict a defeat on the current leaders.

But they must take it one game at a time, starting with Saturday’s contest against Stellenbosch.

The visitors are not the most prolific of goal scorers, having put only 12 in the back of the net in 16 matches this season.

They have lost their last two fixtures and are all there for the taking.

NRB simply can’t afford to let this one slip.
