BREAKING: Another drowning in Richards Bay
According to ICE Medical Services who were called to the scene, the 17-year-old and her friend were swimming when she went missing in the water

A YOUNG woman tragically lost her life this afternoon (Friday) when she drowned while swimming in the Bay Hall side of the Pelican Island bay.
According to ICE Medical Services who were called to the scene, the 17-year-old and her friend were swimming when she went missing in the water.
Her friend reported it to bystanders, one of whom drove to the lifeguard tower and returned to the scene with two lifeguards.

A search turned up the teen’s body in the jet ski section of the area.
She was found floating face down and without a pulse.
CPR was performed once the body had been taken out of the water, to no avail.
By this time, ICE had been called and arrived on scene to find the girl had passed, and was declared deceased.
