THE annual Champion of Champions oval track event will take place on the 350m tarred oval at the ZCBF Showgrounds in Richards Bay on Tuesday at 6pm.
Gates open at 8am as many competitors use the opportunity to do some race set-up.
The third leg of the SA vs US super midget clash will form one of the main highlights as the likes of Quinton Saayman, Eugene Saayman, Chris Landsburg and Nico Engelbrecht take on Bill and Brian Tyler of the USA in turbo-charged imported Midget chassis.
Both the US drivers won heats during the second event, with Quinton Saayman winning the closely contested final.
V8 sprint cars make a welcome return.
These 800hp machines reach speeds in excess of 160km per hour within the close confines of this tight oval.
Willie Zurich, Charles Carlson, Johan Beukes, Chantal Lewis, Charlene Carlson and Rassie Erasmus make up the bulk of the eight-car entry.
National hot rods, 2L hot rods, 1660 saloons, Super Saloons and stock rods make up the support classes with many visiting drivers entered.
Admission is R100 for adults and R30 for children between 6 and 12 years of age.
A full range of catering will be available.
