Christmas hampers for conservation officials

The staff receiving these hampers are at the coalface of anti-poaching efforts

FOR the fourth consecutive year the Spar group showed its support for the ‘Boots on the ground’ initiative in which, together with the Hluhluwe Hilltop Honorary Officers, Christmas hampers are handed to field staff at the Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park (HiP).

‘These staffers are the thin green line protecting our parks. They often do not receive recognition for their work, but are frequently criticised when things go wrong,’ said the Honorary Officers.

The Hluhluwe Conservation Manager and Section Rangers thanked Spar and the Hluhluwe Hilltop Honorary Officers and said the generous donation of the hampers goes a long way in uplifting the morale and commitment of staff, especially the law enforcement personnel.

They said the hampers also improve the families’ morale during these difficult economic times.
