Holiday travel essentials

IT’s holiday time and some readers will be taking long distance journeys.

For them especially, Zululand Observer has compiled a list of items which will come in very handy in case of car trouble or just in general when far away from home:

• A basic first aid kit (plasters, gauze pads, aspirin, antiseptic wipes and latex gloves)

• Small powerful torch

• Tow rope

• Multi tool

• Emergency tyre sealant and inflator (canister type)

• Cell phone charger

• Water (two litres should do)

• An old towel to use as groundsheet and also on which to wipe oily hands

• Small fire extinguisher

• Jumper cables.
