King Cetshwayo excel at district games

RICHARDS Bay was buzzing since the weekend when top athletes from all KZN districts competed in the 2017 SALGA DSR Games.

Once the dust had settled, eThekwini came out on top with 35 points after scooping eight gold, three silver and five bronze medals.

King Cetshwayo finished in second spot with 25 points after accumulating two gold, nine silver and one bronze medal.

Local districts uMkhanyakude (three gold) and Zululand (two gold and two bronze) finished in fifth and seventh places with 9 and 8 points respectively.

King Cetshwayo won the cricket and women’s netball, ended second in boxing, men’s soccer, indigenous games, karate, men’s netball, men’s rugby, tennis, volleyball (men and women) and third in chess.

uMkhanyakude won the volleyball (men and women) and men’s soccer, with Zululand winning the men’s netball and table tennis and finishing third in swimming and tennis.
