VELDENVLEI residents are up in arms over the state of the community’s tennis courts.

One concerned resident, who wished to remain anonymous, told the ZO he is growing tired of the vandalism in the area.

‘Broken beer bottles lay strewn all over the place, the courts’ surfaces have been damaged and the gates are left unlocked.

‘One of the floodlights’ control box panels is wide open and exposed to the elements.

‘The light switch outside the courts is also left open and can be switched on by anyone.

‘Most nights the lights are left on until midnight and children are playing with skateboards, bicycles and soccer balls on the tennis courts.’
