AFTER arresting a suspected fraudster, KwaMsane police strongly suspect there are more victims out there and have urged them to come forward.
Vusumuzi Elliot Nomandla (31), known to his victims as Vusi Dangazela, is thought to have operated between Mtubatuba and Hluhluwe.
According to police records, he would claim to work for Transnet and, for a fee of R6 500, promised to find his victims jobs at the company.
‘Some of the victims were taken to Durban and booked into a hotel, where the suspect told them they had been called for training,’ said KwaMsane SAPS Communications Officer, Captain Jabulani Mdletshe.
‘The victims were made to stay in the lodge or the hotel and the suspect would leave them there until they were chased away by the owners.’

Nomandla is thought to have carried out his ‘operation’ between April last year and last week, when he was arrested.
During this time he defrauded at least six victims of about R50 000.
‘KwaMsane detectives strongly believe there are other people out there who may have fallen victim to the suspect’s scam and who have not yet come forward or who have not yet reported the cases,’ said Mdletshe.
Anyone who may have fallen victim to Nomandla’s scams is to contact the investigating officer Nkosinathi Xolani Siyaya on 035 5519020 or 076 2106817.
The suspect appeared at KwaMsane Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday and the case was remanded to this Wednesday for a bail application.
