COMMUNITY members from KwaShukela in Jozini say they will not rest until the four suspects accused of killing Ntombenhle Mabika are sent to jail for life.
On Monday scores of residents marched to Jozini Magistrate Court in solidarity with the Mabika family and to persuade the court not to release the suspects on bail.
Two who are accused of being hit men abandoned their bail application and the community believes it is because of their pressure they have shown.
Linda Gumede, a community leader in Ward 10 in Jozini local municipality, told the ZO the community is very angry about the killing of Mabika and they will take the law into their own hands if the court releases them on bail.
‘We don’t want that to happen as we know it is against the law but we want court to take this case seriously. Killing of women must come to an end.

‘Mabika left her six children and grandchildren. A 9-year-old grandchild was also present during the brutal attack. She was killed in front of her grandchild and husband, which shows who serious this case is,’ said Gumede.
He reported that the two accused of being hit men, Sphamandla Mkhwamubi and Ndodo Gumede, abandoned their bail application after telling the court they would not feel safe it they are released.
‘We believed someone told them we are angry about their despicable act of murdering a defenceless woman,’ he said.
The other two suspects, Scora Mabika and Thulile Mabika, believed to have masterminded the paying and hiring of the hit men, proceeded with their bail application but the proceeding was postponed to 12 December for further investigation even though Thulile had told the court she has been separated from her young child for a long time.
Gumede also told the ZO that the community has built a new house for the Mabika family to ensure they are safe and could avoid the memories of their mother’s brutal death.
