uMlalazi Mayor heads up road safety campaign

Transport Month ended with a road safety campaign in eShowe

WITH road carnage continuing to claim lives of many South Africans, uMlalazi Mayor Cllr Thelumoya Jeke Zulu headed a road safety campaign in eShowe on Tuesday.

The initiative was to conclude the Transport Month initiative in ensuring safety of all motorists.

The mayor rolled up his sleeves to check the condition of vehicles on the roads and to ensure drivers have their valid licenses.

‘As we close the month, we would like to make a commitment to uMlalazi drivers and commuters that we will ensure road safety and that all people obey and respect the rules,’ he said.

‘We will conduct such roadblocks towards and beyond the festive season. We aim to increase visibility and encourage road compliance by drivers.’
