Serious crime suspects nabbed

These dangerous criminals, who have been evading police for a while, were cornered while celebrating in the Helpmekaar area

POLICE have nabbed five suspects linked to 15 serious crimes in KZN.

The men, who will also be charged with cases in KwaMbonambi, Empangeni, Ntambanana and Madadeni, were arrested during a joint operation by King Cetshwayo Crime Intelligence assisted by the Durban Special Tasked Force in Helpmekaar near Dundee.

Aged between 22 and 29, the suspects have been charged for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition and possession of a vehicle suspected to be stolen.

‘These dangerous criminals, who have been evading police for a while, were cornered while celebrating in the Helpmekaar area.

‘The men are linked to a number of crimes such as murders, armed robberies, hijackings and rapes.

‘We will also establish from our investigations if they are wanted for other crimes in the province,’ said KZN Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Bheki Langa.
