Melomed hospital opening delayed to 2018

DELAYS in construction have pushed Melomed Private Hospital’s opening date to early next year.
After construction began in 2015, the ZO reported in mid-August that the hospital would be up and running by October, but following construction issues as well as a series of inspections by the Department of Health (DoH), it is now expected to open its doors in January 2018.
Group Marketing and Public Relations Manager of Melomed Hospital Holdings, Randal Pedro, said:
‘The DoH requested that certain changes be made on commissioning and also because additional services were granted by the department to further advance our healthcare service offering to the local community.
‘We expect the hospital to be fully operational from January and we would like to apologise to the surrounding community for the delay,’ said Pedro.
