Support the Leisure Gardens Care Centre initiative

Remember this isn’t only for the residents, it is for the community.

WE enjoyed a wonderful evening at the Leisure Gardens fund-raising evening with a talk by Patricia Glyn at the Dome at the Umfolozi Casino Resort.

Wonderful donations were made which will go a long way to help get the Care Centre up and running and the committee need to be thanked for all their hard work.

I would like to reach out to the others in the community to think of small ways to donate towards a building that will not only benefit the residents of Leisure Gardens. but possibly all of us at some time.

A safe place for a loved parent to be cared for while you have a well deserved weekend break from caring. or a place for them to be cared for while convalescing without having to take leave from your work.

Caring for the sick and elderly can be very emotional and stressful for those not trained to do it.

To sacrifice a few rented videos or slabs of chocolate would help buy a bag of cement. Possibly one of the building suppliers in town would offer to keep stock of the individual bags for a short period of time while the building got underway.

I know there are many demands for our hard earned money, school fees, orphanages, care centres, save the rhinos and so on, but think of this as putting towards your retirement.

We may not all end up living in Leisure Gardens but a Care Centre close to home to help you after an operation or fall or to care for your parent for a weekend – what a Godsend.

Remember this isn’t only for the residents, it is for the community.
