Have a paper plane contest
When was the last time you folded a paper plane?
There’s an actual science to it, and many different ways to fold them to achieve various results.
Challenge all family members to compete in a paper plane contest.
Get a large piece of paper – A3 or even A2 – and cut out a number of holes varying in size.
Allocate points to each hole – more points for smaller holes and less for the bigger holes.
Now stick up your A3 sheet against a door frame.
Let all the contestants design their own paper planes.

Line up, aim and throw your paper planes through the holes.
The one with the highest score is the winner.
Allow your contestants to redesign their plane until they’re happy with the result.
This might kill a couple of hours, especially on a rainy day.
