FOUR murder accused have each been sentenced to life imprisonment in the Empangeni Regional Court on Tuesday.
Fanele Makhaya (27), Vincent Mngomezulu (25), Bhekani Mngomezulu (33) and Nhlakanipho Nyawo (22) were convicted for the murder of a 29 year-old man in the Cinci area in KwaMbonambi.
According to evidence the deceased and his friends had visited a tavern in the area to buy beer.
On their way they saw the accused at a bus stop, who then also arrived at the tavern.
Having had previous altercations with the accused, the deceased and his friends left their beer at the tavern to avoid conflict and went to a nearby homestead.
They returned to the tavern later that night to fetch their beer and this is when they were attacked.
The deceased was stabbed approximately 30 times and died while being rushed to a nearby clinic.
