Richards Bay cricket achievers acknowledged
Richards Bay Cricket Club held its annual awards ceremony recently
RICHARDS Bay Cricket Club held its annual awards ceremony at Woodpecker Inn on Wednesday evening to celebrate the club’s successes and acknowledge players for their contributions during the 2016/2017 season.
Paul Badenhorst received the Batsman of the Season award after making tons of runs with the willow, while Pierre Nel picked up the Bowler of the Season award.
Left-handed all-rounder Charl Groenewald was named the Players’ Player of the Season.
The local club had a great season, winning two out of the three competitions – the Weber Cup (45 over competition) and T20 league.
The good form continued this season when the club successfully defended their Weber Cup title.
The team will be competing in the Saturday 24 Over League which starts on Saturday before defending their T20 title next year.
