Promoting research at Unizulu faculties
The conference provided opportunity for knowledge sharing between specialised disciplines
THE University of Zululand held its annual Faculty of Science and Agriculture research symposium to promote research within the faculty.
The conference provided opportunity for knowledge sharing between specialised disciplines.
These include botany, biokinetics (including sports science and human movement science), chemistry, biochemistry, computer science, consumer sciences, geography, hydrology, microbiology, physics and zoology.
‘We motivate students to see that research is possible and that students must continue with their studies,’ said Prof Bolyn Mosa Selepe, a Senior Lecturer in the Consumer Science Department.
‘An example is those at honours level who we encourage to pursue their master’s degrees. Our biggest aim is to promote research within the faculty,’
Prof Onisimo Mutanga of the University of KwaZulu-Natal was the keynote speaker.
