Hugely successful Mtubatuba cancer fund-raiser

Funds raised will be donated to Zululand Hospice and a Mtubatuba care centre

MOTIVATED by the increasing number of people suffering from cancer, Mtubatuba resident Charmaine Goncalves organised a fund-raiser which saw a total of R12 000 being raised.

‘This was an evening where we could support the fight against cancer,’ said Charmaine.

‘It was a phenomenal success.

‘We sold 200 tickets, the Gus Brown Band who performed on the night donated 50% of their original quote back to the fund-raiser and an anonymous person donated a further R2 000.’

The event, called ‘The let’s remember event’ was held at Umfolozi Country Club earlier this month.

Of the total amount raised, R8 000 will be donated to Zululand Hospice and the remaining R4 000 to a care centre in Mtubatuba.
