EMPANGENI High School proudly brings world class music lessons to pupils.
One would have to travel far for such valuable training but this local school has upped its game – offering music not as an extra curricular activity but as part of their academic programme.
The music centre is one of the biggest in the province and offers music training, which includes an examination, as an additional subject.
According to the school, their trained teachers are qualified to teach students and ensure pupils pass their Grade 12 with music on their certificates.
‘The music centre is well known for excelling in Trinity and UNISA external music exams, with learners obtaining their final Grade 8 certificate from these institutions on instruments such as piano, trumpet, clarinet, saxophone and singing amongst others,’ said the school.
Most of the music learners also participate in the famous EHS Marching Band, the EHS Concert Band, the EHS Drumline, EHS Musical, Eisteddfod and the award winning EHS Choir.
