Sinkhole car plunge mystery
Pictures of the navy blue vehicle surfaced and were circulated online throughout the weekend
MYSTERY surrounds reports of a car that drove into the sinkhole on the John Ross on Saturday night.
Did it happen, or didn’t it?
And if it did, why was the driver on the highway which had been closed?
Pictures of the navy blue vehicle surfaced and were circulated online throughout the weekend.
While it appears to be genuine, the is very little evidence of the major damage that would have occurred had the car being moving at speed.
A number plate holder was found near the edge of the sinkhole and there was some broken glass where the car had allegedly stopped.
The City of uMhlathuze earlier this week told the ZO they could not confirm the incident as no one had reported it to them.
While the sinkhole resembles the one on the John Ross, the ZO has been unable to confirm the incident with the relevant people.
