UPDATE: Schoolboy to appear in court
The schoolboy spent the weekend behind bars and is expected to appear in the Ntuzuma magistrate’s court this morning

THE ZO last week released video footage which showed horrific scenes of assault by a schoolboy on a female pupil.
The suspect has since been arrested after his father is reported to have handed him in to local police.
He is said to have spent the weekend behind bars and will appear in the Ntuzuma magistrate’s court this morning.
The footage was brought to the attention of the ZO after it surfaced on Twitter, a day after the country celebrated Woman’s Day.
The ZO then reported the incident to the King Cetshwayo District Municipality (KCDM) Department of Education as it was alleged that the school may have been in the Zululand region.

The KZN Department of Education confirmed that the incident occurred in November last year.
MEC Dlungwane is expected to visit the school today where the principal has since come under fire or not reporting the incident.
