Records tumble at Grantleigh sport day

Trogrons House took home the coveted House Trophy for 2017

FIVE records were bettered at the Grantleigh College Inter-House Athletics day held on Saturday as a result of pupils leaving everything out on the track with hopes of their house winning the overall event.

Trogrons House eventually took home the coveted House Trophy for 2017.

The following records were broken on the day –

• U15 girls shot put – Zifiso Mdletshe (9.16m).

• U14 boys shot put – Jared Binks (12.41m).

• U16 boys 100m – Wandile Gumede (11.46 seconds).

• U19 boys 400m – Simon Upfold (55.08 seconds).

• U19 boys 800m – Simon Upfold (2.18.03).
