Eight injured in bus crash

Bus overturns near Mtuba

PARAMEDICS rushed to an accident scene in Mutba this morning where a bus carrying 30 passengers overturned.

Robert McKenzie, KwaZulu-Natal EMS media liaison officer said at about 6am medics attended an emergency call in the Umkhanyakude District.

‘A bus traveling on the N2, south bound, about 10km before Mtubatuba, overturned. When EMS crews arrived on scene they had to triage the patients and found that eight patients had been injured, and were treated on scene,’ he said.

Patients were transported to Ngwelezane Hospital, Hlabisa Hospital and Msane Clinic for further treatment.

‘The other passengers had very minor injuries or no injuries and did not want to be taken to hospital,’ said McKenzie.

  1. Lately the road between Mtubatuba and Empangeni have been nothing short of horror scenes. When is the government going to sort out this section of road. Since Sunday there have now been 3 major accidents and it is only Wednesday. As a parent how many of us send our children to school on a bus and hope to goodness they arrive safely. Or do we now have to sacrifice decent education for the lives of our children and giving them absolutely no chance at a future in this seriously corrupt country of ours.

  2. We need to pray hard during festive season,God would never leaves us if we praise Him with all our heart,HE is next to us.Good people please pray before you take any Journey.
