Mhlathuze Water scoops prestigious HR award for the second time
Top award repeat for water utility
AGAINST stiff competition, Mhlathuze Water has won a coveted national award.
The water utility took first place in the category ‘Employer of Choice: Public Sector organisation’ at the prestigious third annual ‘Future of HR Awards’.
Held at Boksburg’s Birchwood Hotel & Conference Centre last week and hosted in association with Careers24, they competed against Bankseta, Coega Development and Umgeni Water in one of 11 categories.
‘This accolade is much more than a well-deserved pat on the back,’ said Mthokozisi Duze, CEO of Mhlathuze Water (MW).
‘It is confirmation that MW is future-fit and fully up to speed with the fast-changing and digitally disrupted HR industry, while also retaining a strong, traditional and highly effective focus on being ‘people first’.
‘In honouring the strides these companies and individuals are making, the awards set new benchmarks for visionary companies to pursue.’
This year, the ‘innovation’ aspect of nominees’ entries was particularly scrutinised by the judges, against the backdrop of an industry facing more digital disruption than just about any other.
‘We are extremely honoured to again be recognised, as we scooped this award previously in 2015,’ said Duze.
‘I am proud to be part of a team that continues to implement creative, technology-driven ideas that integrate HR programmes and team-member engagement initiatives.’
