ON Wednesday morning, Empangeni High School pupils held an emotional memorial assembly in remembrance of Simphiwe Ngubane, who died in 2013 when in Grade 8 at the school.
He lost his life in a motor vehicle accident along with his sister Khakhokonke and teacher Mr Petersen.
‘As Simphiwe would have been in Grade 12 this year, his fellow classmates decided to pay tribute to him,’ said EHS spokesperson Julie da Silva.
‘They collected monies to buy a matric jacket with his nickname ‘#STATIC’ embroidered on it before presenting the framed jacked to his mother.’
