Petrol pumps in Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park not being removed

Park petrol stations to stay intact

EZEMVELO KZN Wildlife spokesman Musa Mntambo says that there are no plans to remove the petrol bowsers in the Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park.

This is in reply to a question concerning an advertisement placed by Mills and Otten Environmental Consultant on behalf of Total SA.

In the advertisement placed in the Zululand Observer reference was made to the decommissioning of a fuel facility.

Persons wishing to be identified as an interested and/or affected party needed to submit their name, interest in the project and contact information to the consultants within 30 days of the publication of the notice.

Mntambo said the facilities being removed are old tanks which are no longer in use.

‘They have nothing to do with the fuel stations at Hilltop or Mpila.’
