Richards Bay chess star seeks sponsorship for SA champs
The 13-year-old chess player has been selected for the fourth consecutive year in a row and is representing the King Cetshwayo District
RICHARDS Bay High School pupil, Tiara Peters will be competing in the South African National Junior Chess Championship in January and is seeking sponsorship to cover the costs to attend.
The 13-year-old chess player has been selected for the fourth consecutive year in a row and is representing the King Cetshwayo District.
The Grade 8 learner who is passionate about community work, supporting local charities, modelling and dancing is excited to compete in the chess championships again.
‘Along with my chess selection, I joined a dance school, Strictly Dancing, in March this year, completed my teachers bronze course in modelling and am working towards being a fully qualified modelling teacher by next year.
‘Our Ribbons for Roses Campaign is ongoing and I am stillcollecting bread tags and bottle caps to exchange for wheelchairs, she said.
