Bakkie bashes bull on John Ross highway

Dangers of stray cattle on the city's roads was again evident early Friday morning when a bakkie rammed into a bull on the John Ross Parkway

THE dangers of stray cattle on the city’s roads was again evident early Friday morning when a bakkie rammed into a bull on the John Ross Parkway.

The accident took place close to the Alton robots at around 5.30am when the vehicle belonging to a local construction company hit the black bull, killing it instantly.

The bakkie was severely damaged but the two occupants were uninjured.

The incident comes after a period when fewer cattle have been evident on the roads following late summer rains that restored grazing lands in rural areas.
