Centre in Empangeni promotes reading among children

The kids’ corner is aimed at encouraging reading in young children and spearheaded by the centre in a joint venture with local businesses as well as Zululand teen Claudelle Botha

IT was all promoting reading and storytelling to young children during the official opening of the Siyafunda with Sanlam Centre in Empangeni on Tuesday.

The kids’ corner is aimed at encouraging reading in young children and spearheaded by the centre in a joint venture with local businesses as well as Zululand teen Claudelle Botha.

Entertaining the children is former Mayor Thembeka Mchunu

The official opening was done by former King Cetshwayo Municipality Mayor, Thembeka Mchunu.

‘This corner will assist children with language use while adults are doing their shopping.’

After all the formalities, children enjoyed puzzles and took advantage of colouring-in books on display as well as created colourful images.
