The main focus of the evening was to introduce locals to the GameOn! Cashback Card, powered by Lyoness – a unique innovation that enables cardholders to earn rewards and loyalty points while supporting sport development at local and at regional levels.

‘The card can be used to make purchases throughout South Africa, and with every purchase the shopper receives rewards in the form of cash back and shopping points, with a certain amount, called a friendship bonus, going to a sporting body, learner investment fund or educational institution,’ said Managing Director of Lyoness SA and GameOn! Founder, John Allan.

Historian and author of ‘Empire War and Cricket in South Africa,’ Dean Allen also engaged with locals about his newly published novel which contains extensive archival material from South Africa and the UK – some of which he accessed for the very first time – to explore the important themes of sport, politics and power during a key period of South African and British Imperial history.

Among the guests was founder of Thula Thula Game Reserve, Françoise Malby-Anthony, who provided a glimpse into the many conservation projects that the reserve is currently undertaking.
