THE woman who was hijacked last week in Empangeni may have come face to face with the trigger happy gunman who fired a number of shots at two residents earlier that same day.
The ZO Monday front page article reported on a gunman who entered the premises of a home in Maritz Road shortly after 1pm the previous Tuesday afternoon.
While the motive of his intrusion is unclear, the gun wielding man fired a number of shots at Theresa Wilsenach and Shaun Francis as he attempted to get hold of Theresa after she arrived at Shaun’s home and jumped out of her vehicle.
At about 2.30pm that same afternoon the hijacking of an Empangeni mother, who was dropping off her kids from school, took place in the Noordsig suburb in Empangeni.
The mother spoke to the ZO on condition of anonymity.
‘I walked down with both my boys and then realised I had to give one of them something that was in my vehicle.
‘My youngest son accompanied me back to the car where I started looking for what I had to give him.
‘My eldest son then came up and started shouting at someone.
‘That’s when I saw a man with a gun,’ she said.
