BREAKING NEWS: Mevamhlophe resident shot and killed during morning hijacking
Police are combing the scene and a case of murder and hijacking will be investigated

AN elderly man was shot and killed this morning after he was hijacked just off the R34 in the Mevamhlophe area.
Believed to be in his early seventies, the pensioner was on his way to work at Empangeni Milling when he was hijacked and shot once in his chest.
He was driving a white Toyota Hilux.
His body was found next to the side of the road along with a shotgun cartridge.
Police, however, believe the victim could have been shot with another firearm.
He is said to have been hijacked between 6:30 and 7am.
Nearby residents reported hearing a number of gunshots early this morning.
