Zululand pastor urges community members to respect amaKhosi
Manqomfini gets a new iNduna
THE leader of the Divine Gods Grace Ministries International, Pastor Siyabonga Lucky Dube, has lashed out at those church leaders who disrespect traditional leadership.
Speaking at the inauguration of iNduna Bheki Mdletshe of Manqomfini Reserve outside Ngwelezana, he said he was disturbed by the poor turnout of religious leaders at the event, saying their actions showed a total disregard of the powers vested in traditional leaders.
‘Where are the church leaders today?
The reason why they are not here is because they don’t value the role of traditional leaders in society.
Many of us in the religious fraternity think we are above traditional leaders, which is not true.
The sooner we get rid of that mentality, the better.’

Dube also appealed to the community at large to respect the amaKhosi.
Welcoming Mdletshe as the new iNduna, the head of Madlebe Traditional Authority, iNkosi Zenzo Zungu, said he would be happy to see all izinduna humbling themselves in front of the people they lead.
‘My only appeal to you is to work closely with local ward councillors and other community structures in bringing about rural development.
‘We expect you to attend to community matters and other related societal issues such as crime, which is rife in this area.
‘This area is underdeveloped. We don’t even have a community hall and crèche.
We would be happy see a change under your leadership,’ he said.
Mdletshe is no stranger to traditional leadership.
He served asan iNduna in one of the reserves under the Mhlana Traditional Authority, before relocating to the Madlebe Traditional Authority.
