PONGOLA Municipality Deputy Mayor Busi Mthembu is facing a charge of shoplifting at a local general clothing and sports supply shop.
It reportedly involved a pair of shoes.
After receiving information about the charge, the Zululand Observer contacted the Pongola Police Station, who confirmed that a case of shoplifting had been laid against Cllr Mthembu last week.
