Heavy rains dry out crime in Richards Bay

Not a single robbery was reported to the Richards Bay SAPS during the weekend

ONLY one burglary in Brackenham, and not a single robbery, was reported to the Richards Bay SAPS during the weekend since even criminals appeared to have ducked for cover as torrential rains flooded the City.

Richards Bay SAPS spokesperson Captain Debbie Ferreira said it was a ‘refreshingly quiet time for crime’ following several robberies and break-ins during the previous weekend.

But Ferreira urged residents not to become lax while enjoying the showers.

‘Whatever the weather conditions, always lock up and stay vigilant.’
