Thanda take on the Cosmos

Thanda Royal Zulu are on a three points mission away to Jomo Cosmos on Sunday

THANDA Royal Zulu are on a three points mission away to Jomo Cosmos on Sunday, a ‘must win’ game that will further their dreams of winning automatic promotion from the National First Division.

The Amabhubesi beat the former PSL giants 2-0 in the first round of the current campaign and form would suggest another victory if the team plays to its potential.

The distraction of their Nedbank Cup campaign will also have done Cosmos no help.

Unbeaten at home all season, Thanda have also done well on the road, harvesting a superb 17 points with four wins, five draws and a solitary loss.

In a friendly outing against AmaZulu on Friday, they showed their claws are sharp – and they need to be, as just three days later they host the mighty Black Leopards, who are snapping at their heels in second position on the NFD.

Thanda have an eight point advantage at this stage and will be virtually out of sight should they win what promises to be a tough tussle.

Their remaining fixtures are:

21 April – Royal Eagles (away)

30 April – Magesi (home)

7 May – Stellenbosch (home)

12 May – CT All Stars (away)

21 May – FC Cape Town (home)

28 May – Real Kings (away)

• A bus will be leaving from McDonald’s in Richards Bay at 5.30am on Sunday for those fans wishing to attend the Cosmos game.
