MIDDELBURG Primary School utilised their slick handling skills to beat Empangeni Preparatory 32-12 in an U13A rugby match at Mick Kelly Park on Thursday afternoon.

The Mpumalanga school scored 22 unanswered points in the first half after dominating the set pieces and loose rucks.

After a stern half-time talk, Empangeni stepped up their game and scored 12 points in the first 15 minutes.

Minenhle Mladleni and Siyanda Ngcobo dotted down for the local side, with Andiswa Zulu kicking one conversion.

But just as a spirited comeback was on the cards, Middelburg scored two unconverted tries to claim a well deserved victory.
