Sharing business products with community
Mondi Richards Bay distributed thousands of boxes of paper to local crèches, primary and high schools
LOCAL corporate, Mondi Richards Bay distributed thousands of boxes of paper to local crèches, primary and high schools as well as non profit organisations as part of the company’s ongoing social investment into its surrounding communities.
This is an annual donation and 74 organisations from local communities benefited.
Mondi Group Corporate Social Investment Manager Hlengiwe Mvubu said the paper donations assist the schools and organisations tremendously and helps to reduce their costs.
‘We want to give our communities our core products and we have targeted our educational and community institutions.
‘Education is close to our heart because it is a long standing investment and can eradicate poverty,’ said Mvubu.
Meanwhile, one of the beneficiaries, Zululand Hospice Association representative Stephanie Nair said the donation is much needed to assist their operations.
‘We need the paper to print our newsletters, in our daily operations and for funding proposals.
‘This donation helps us on cost cutting as our newsletters play an important role; we deal with terminally ill patients and reading about the progress of others, seeing what hospice is doing in the community and the quality of life that is afforded to patients at the end of their lives gives our patients hope.
‘We are so appreciative of the support of our local corporate and I join all the beneficiaries in saying a big thank for the contribution,’ said Nair.
